Autumn Poncho - Poncho Otoñal

Festival de Ponchos.

Las guaguas han sido las más afortunadas en mi incursión. Todos estos terminaron siendo regalos para conquetas bebés. 

La misma base se aplica en el adulto, es cosa de seguir tejiendo. En el centro del tejido se agregan dos puntos por corrida, y así se va agrandando hasta quedar en la clásica forma Ponchera.

Benetton plus me.... Cardigan with pockets...

Este cárdigan me lo compré en Florencia, Italia, en el famoso viaje que hice con mi amiga y comadre Diana en los primero días de diciembre. Benetton es una de las visitas obligadas; me encantan sus colores, diseños, siempre con una pizca de estilo al límite. Lo agarré del colgador y lo pagué rápidamente… me fascina la técnica del “Fair Isle” del cuello y desde hace mucho que no tenía uno así.. Una vez en Inglaterra tuve algo de dudas y le agregué lo que para mí era la guinda de la torta: LOS BOLSILOS. Imité el estilo, usé lana nueva 4ply, la misma de la prenda y creo que ahora es perfecto!

I bought this cute -winter looking cardigan in Florence, in my last trip in December. A visit to Benetton is almost compulsory, the nearest store is in London, so I take advantage while I am in the continent. I just love its style, with its colours and a bit of vanguard design. 

I took it and I paid quickly, did not want to miss the opportunity to have again, after a long time, a cardi with the Fair Isle technique. Once in the Uk I was a bit unsure, something was missing and I complemented it with POCKETS! I used 4 ply new wool, the same as the garment and …Voila!

Warm scarf and headband - bufanda y cintillo

It took me quite a long time to finish this… It was a very long and yarn consuming project but the result is WARM WARM WARM! Getting ready for those wintery days, not long now…

A tubular scarf with wool, acrylic and mohair yarn. English stitch that gives a spongy thickness and a headband to give it that “ je ne sais quoi” and voilà!

Me tomó algo de tiempo terminar este proyecto, fueron horas y horas de tejido y mucha lana consumida, pero el resultado es ABRIDADOR!

Es una bufanda tubular en lana, acrílico y mohair. Va en punto inglés, que le da un resultado grueso pero esponjoso. Tejí además un cintillo para darle el toque al conjunto.

Scarf Für mich

All of the sudden it turn so cold in this part of the world. After being submerged in a cloud, literally; the cold came at once. I went to Cambridge this Friday in a personal mission, and even though I was wearing my knee length Urban parka Norh Face, the wind was implacable, I felt it… so, I am knitting my very own tubular scarf, extra thick and wide. I am doing the English stitch, which is ideal for the thickness and no front or reverse appearance ♥

... Y de pronto se puso sumamente helado en los confines de esta parte del mundo. No sólo después de estar sumergidos en una nube, literalmente; nos llegó un frio calador. Me a fui a Cambridge en una misión muy personal este viernes, y a pesar de estar usando por primer vez mi NORTH FACE urban parka, hasta las rodillas de largo; el viento era implacable, y lo sentí… de ahí que me estoy te

jiendo mi propia bufanda tubular, extra gruesa y ancha. El punto inglés es ideal para un grosor doble, además de lucir perfecta por ambos lados.

Esta muñequita se fue directamente para el otro lado del planeta y está en manos de una Señorita muy especial. Cada puntada fue perfectamente pensada, amada y atesorada.

Está hecha en tela, tejido de crochet y palillos, en hebras de bambú y algodón.

Sin patrones, ni guías, sólo siguiendo mi corazón.

Framed Crochet flower bouquet ~ Flores enmarcadas

Como muchos ya saben, el verano en este país ha sido extremadamente raro, lluvia y días nublados es lo que abunda y poco o nada hemos visto el sol. Por lo mismo, y para perpetuar la bella imagen estival de la primavera florida, he creado mi propio canastillo de colores danzantes. En mi casa siempre será primavera.

Tejí el fondo a palillos para darle un tono parejo, luego a crochet hice las flores por separados y finalmente, con la ayuda de una herramienta mágica en manualidades, pegué todo rápidamente con la pistola de goma/ silicona! Quién se acuerda  casa Club TV, el canal de cable en Chile que transmitía programas desde Miami y las creaciones de Lucy Pereda. Siempre ayudada de su pistolita famosa!

Most of you already know about this really freaky weather we have had. This summer has been nothing but rain and cloudy days. For this reason, and in order to prolong and perpetuate the ever spring, I have created my own flower bouquet.

I knitted the background with a plain colour, then I crocheted the flower separately and finally, with the help of a magic tool in handcraft, I stuck rapidly everything with the glue gun/silicone!

Who can remember that Casa Club Tv channel all the way from Miami and Lucy Pereda working her eccentric handcraft, always helped by her little glue gun? Haha! those were the days!

Fabric & Crochet dolly ~ Muñequita de tela y crochet

Es un día tan especial para mí, el sol brilla en Uk-  algo raro, y acabo de recibir una llamada de Royal School of Music, diciéndome que mi hijo ha aprobado el examen con distinción! Qué día más hermoso para mi familia!

Hablando de manualidades, hace unos días me embarqué en una nueva aventura: las muñequitas de tela… y este fue el resultado, una mezcla entre conejo y gata para una chiquita que estaba de cumpleaños.

This is simply a great day! Sun is shining – something unusual, and I just got a phone call from The Royal School of Music saying that Thomas passed his exam with Distinction! What a wonderful day for my family!

Talking now about handcrafts, few days ago I started a new adventure: little fabric dollies and this was the result. It is a mix between a rabbit and a cat for a little birthday girl.

Candy neck warmer ~ Cuello de algodón

El verano en este país es algo parecido al invierno chileno . Nos ha tocado lluvia todos los días, a distintas horas y en algunos lugares de Inglaterra han habido terribles inundaciones… PLOP!

Lo único sugerente de este clima es el recogimiento e inclinación a  las actividades hogareñas...  y yo feliz tejo!

Este es un regalito para una bebé en Chile. Un cuello de bambú y algodón. Suave!

The summer time in this country is something similar to the Chilean Winter. It has been raining every day almost and in some places around the Uk, there has been awful floods... :S

The only suggestive about this is the withdrawal and inclination towards the indoors activities, so I knit happily!

This is a little present for a special baby in Chile; a neck warmer made in bamboo and cotton. Lovely and soft!

I have been commissioned this bunting fr a little baby girl in USA. Happily I have made every stitch. My eldest son wanted a scooter, one for a big boy, and I found it. Bufanda de Dr Who ✰ Dr Who Scarf! 1976

Dr Who es una emblemática serie inglesa que comenzó a transmitirse en 1963 por la BBC y dura hasta nuestros días. Ha capturados miles de adeptos en el camino, atrapó a mi marido y también a mis hijos. Generaciones de fanáticos se han ido creando y pareciera que no tiene fin!

Les presento a petición de mi hijo mayor: La bufanda de Dr Who 1976 (unas de las tantas que usó este personaje).

Me he demorado casi dos meses en tejerla. Fue algo entre amor y odio, pues la hebra delgada parecía no avanzar y las proporciones de la bufanda eran increíbles. Por fin ya terminada, mide 3 metros 70 de largo por 25 centímetros  de ancho. Una odisea!

Dr Who is an emblematic English series that started in 1963 and it was transmitted by the BBC until nowadays.

It has captured thousands of faithful fans along the way, including my husband and children. Generation of Dr Who fan does not seem to reach end!

Let me introduce you, a unique request from my son: The Dr Who Scarf! – from the character of 1976, one of many designs that he wore.

It took me almost 2 months knitting this. It was a cross between “love and hate”, as the yarn was so thin, advancing look a very hard task, besides, the proportion of the garment where so unbelievable. Once finished, it measures 3 metres and 70 cm long,  by 25 cm wide. An odyssey!

El afinador de piano poniendo el instrumento de primera categoría para Sean,  quien comenzó con sus clases la semana pasada. Otro músico en la familia.

A very simple Chilean silver plaque with the representation of my children. I brought it from Chile and I adore it!

Comienzo de año y resoluciones. Comer sano, no saltarme mi desayuno “super power”, así como los poderes de Uno de los Dr Who, este es el predilecto de mi hijo menor.

Beginning of a new year and resolutions: Not to skip my super powerful breakfast, just like the Dr Who powers, the dearest of my youngest.

Mis proyectos están estancados por la espera de terminar uno mega, laaaargo y casi infinito. Ven la similitud? Así es! Mi hijo mayor quiere la bufanda de Dr Who, unos de los personajes de 1976… tengo para rato!

My project seemed to be in stand still for the moment awaiting for the finishing one, it looks so loooong and almost infinite. Can you see the similarity? Yes, that is correct! My eldest son wants the scarf of Doctor Who. One of the character of 1976... that will keep me busy for a while.
